According to data published by Statista Research Department, Sep 8, 2020 “It is suggested that an estimated 13.2 % of households in Nigeria are faced with children being raised with neither their mother nor their father present, in 2018. Another 7.3 percent of the household population had children with one dead parent and an unknown survival status of the other parent”.
These numbers are continuing to rise, and the children who are the most vulnerable part of our population suffer the most. They often lack food, shelter, access to proper health, education and even safety. Thankfully there are Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in place to ensure that such children do not perish but are given another chance at a fairly decent lifestyle. Including the right to be loved, the right to be kept safe and protected from harm and cared for without compromise.
The OAF is created to obtain help and render services such as food, good health and education to orphans and motherless children in Nigeria. My foundation stands as a medium to help support and fund registered Non-Governmental Organizations in Nigeria with donations from people like you and I that are primarily focused on providing and fostering a decent standard of living to children that have otherwise lost hope and have nowhere else to turn.
My own goal is to provide as much information as possible on the difficulties these helpless children are faced with, and the struggles that they will continue to encounter if the necessary financial help they require isn’t available. Most of the NGOs dedicated to this cause are poorly funded and lack sufficient resources, manpower and financial capability to continue to provide basic needs that most of us take for granted. As my foundation continue s to receive funds from well-meaning individuals. I will, in turn, send the funds to these NGOs after extensive research and remain in touch with them on the progress and advancement these children are making, as realistic goals and plans of care will be made to ensure that there are successful outcomes overall.
As the slogan of the organization states, “Donate……a child needs your hope”, our hope in our young generation as our future leaders of tomorrow should stand as a great motivational compass in ensuring that we give freely without any hesitation to this great cause. Let’s all stand together as one great entity to fight the negative stigma and label that orphans and motherless children are often associated with as we give hope a fighting chance with our charitable donations financially to make an impactful difference in the lives of these vulnerable populations. This will ensure that they will be accorded necessary tools they need to be productive and successful members of the society.
I’d like to conclude by giving a vote of thanks in advance to you all as you find it in your hearts to have a significant impact positively on these orphans and motherless children in Nigeria that would have no hope otherwise. May God continue to bless us all.
